POLICE INVESTIGATE A BANK ROBBERY

On August 27, 2009 at 4:08 PM Mobile Police responded to a report of a bank robbery at the Regions Bank located at 825 South Schillinger Road. Upon arrival at the bank, officers were able to relay a good description of the suspect. Police began checking the area and a citizens assisted officers by giving further directions of the suspect. Officers saturated the area of Dawes Road and Leroy Stevens Road and were able apprehend the suspect without incident. Police then identified the suspect as 27 year old Johnathan David Fisher.

Robbery detectives responded to the scene to begin the investigation. Preliminary results of the investigation reveal that Johnathan Fisher entered the bank, handed a bank employee a note demanding money, and received an undisclosed amount of money from the bank. Evidence from the scene has been recovered, and Johnathan Fisher was arrested and charged with Robbery Third Degree.
