POLICE INVESTIGATE A HOMICIDE ON MCARTHUR STREET

On Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at approximately 9:00 PM, Mobile Police responded to a report of one shot at a residence located in the 1400 block of McArthur Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a three year old male had been shot in the head by his nine year old brother.

The victim was transported to the University of South Alabama Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased. Preliminary investigation has revealed that the nine year old was playing with the handgun when he pointed it at the three year old victim and pulled the trigger accidentally shooting him in the head. This incident remains under investigation and further information will be disseminated as it becomes available.
