POLICE INVESTIGATE A HOMICIDE ON PHILLIPS AVENUE (UPDATE)

On August 13, 2009 at approximately 3:00 AM, Mobile Police responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Phillips Avenue and Borer Avenue in the Josephine Allen Housing Community.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim identified as 45 year old Rickey Charles Deloach with at least one gunshot wound to the body. Deloach was discovered by officers shot inside of a Nissan pickup truck and was pronounced dead on the scene.

Homicide detectives were called to the scene to investigate the incident. Investigators have determined that 17 year old Terrell Dontae Prince is responsible for the death of Deloach. The investigation into this incident remains continuous and more information will be released as it becomes available.
