POLICE INVESTIGATE A HOMICIDE ON SALVIA STREET (UPDATE)

On June 8, 2009 at approximately 5:00 PM police received a call for shots fired at the 700 block of Salvia Street East. Upon officers arrival they discovered a male with an apparent gunshot wound and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Homicide detectives responded to the scene, and have identified the victim as twenty —four year old Steven Henderson of Mobile.

On June 17, 2009 at 5:00 PM Mobile Police and the U.S. Marshals Task force located twenty five year old Michael Anthony Owens at a residence in the 100 block of Catherine Street. Detectives have determined that Michael Owens is responsible for the shooting death of Steven Henderson. Owens was apprehended, and interviewed by detectives and has been charged with Murder. Owens has additional warrants with the U.S. Marshals for federal firearms charges and an Attempt Murder warrant with Prichard.
