Police Investigate an Officer Involved Shooting on Herman Drive

On October 20, 2009 at approximately 10:30 PM Mobile Police officers responded to the 700 Block of Herman Drive for an ongoing investigation. Upon the officer's arrival, they encountered a male suspect of the investigation at an apartment. While on scene shots were fired between the suspect and police. The suspect stayed inside of the apartment and closed the door. Police then secured a perimeter around the apartment. Mobile Police Tactical Unit and Mobile Fire Rescue responded to the scene. After assessing the scene, police found the male suspect dead inside of the apartment.

Mobile Police Homicide detectives and the Internal Affairs Unit responded to the scene to begin an investigation. This investigation will be ongoing and more information will be provided as it becomes available.
