Police Standoff From Domestic Incident

On December 23, 2010 at 4: 36 p.m. Mobile Police responded to 1105 Sutton Ave for a report of a domestic disturbance. Upon the officer's arrival, they began speaking to a woman who stated that 28 year old Rasmee Moffett was inside of the house and armed with a gun. Officers then heard a shot fired and called for more units to respond.
The Mobile Police Tactical Response Unit and Hostage Negotiators responded to the scene. Investigators were able to make contact with people inside of the house and determined that Rasmee Moffett was holding a 24 year old man and 24 year old woman hostage in the house. Moffett discharged his weapon inside of the house at least four times. After approximately five hours Moffet shot the 24 year old man one time in the leg, and the Tactical Response Unit made an emergency entrance into the house. Upon the Officers entrance to the house, Rasmee Moffett fired a single shot taking his own life.
The 24 year old man was transported to the hospital by Mobile Fire Rescue, and has what is considered a non life threatening injury.
