STATE PROBATION OFFICER SHOOTING

On Monday, November 24, 2008 at approximately 9:00 A.M., Mobile Police responded to the 1100 block of Montauk Avenue in reference to a shooting incident. Upon arrival, officers discovered that two state probation officers were involved in a shooting while apprehending a white male suspect identified as Christopher Foehl (32) for violation of probation at the Bay Haas building located at 1150 Government Blvd.

Foehl was shot and pronounced deceased on the scene. One state probation officer was also shot and the second sustained injuries to his hand during the struggle with Foehl. Both probation officers were transported to the University of South Alabama Medical Center for treatment of injuries.
