Student Voices Against Youth Violence Art Contest

May 15th, 2017

Congrats to Theodore High School students Jeremy Bankston, Savannah Hudson, Ana Marie Watson, and Murphy High School students Aizha Turner and Mikayla Smith for participating and earning top recognition in the Inaugural Student Voices Against Youth Violence Art Contest.

More than 30 students created art for the contest. For an entire month, the artwork will be displayed at The Shoppes at Bel Air. The event was hosted by the Mobile Police Department and Mobile United. Kelsie Perine of the Cody Road Boys and Girls Club of South Alabama presented the certificates.

All participants are applauded for rendering their expressions about youth violence. A special thanks to art instructors Christy LeGros of Theodore High School, Lillie Torrans of Murphy High School, and Michele Stroecker of Baker High School.
