TRAFFIC FATALITY ON UNIVERSITY BOULEVARD

Early this morning, at approximately 1:21 A.M., Mobile Police were dispatched to a traffic accident in the area of University Boulevard and Lebaron Drive South. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 2003 Chevrolet Blazer that struck several trees before coming to a final rest on the side of the roadway. The driver, Joshua Rawles (29) was pronounced deceased on the scene.

Traffic Accident Investigators were notified and responded to the scene. They determined that Rawles was traveling south on University Boulevard when his vehicle left the roadway and struck several trees. Investigators are awaiting autopsy results to determine if the cause of death was the result of another factor other than the impact of the collision.
