Two Arrests Made in Robberies, Burglaries

On Sunday, June, 23, 2013, at 2:15 p.m. in the 1700 block of Brazier Drive West, officers were dispatched to a report of a robbery at a residence. Once officers arrived, they were met by the victims who stated a known male subject, 22 year-old Sanjuan Taylor knocked on the back door of the apartment and the victim opened the door. Taylor was armed with a handgun and demanded the victim's property. When the victim shut the door on Taylor, Taylor fired a shot and forced his way back into the apartment. The victim and Taylor started fighting over the subject's gun. The victim stated that during the confrontation, Taylor fired another shot before he fled the scene on foot out of the back door.

On Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at 5:30 p.m., in the 4100 block of Larose Court, officers were dispatched to a report of a robbery. The victim stated a known male, Sanjuan Taylor, had previously spent the night at the residence. Taylor entered the male victim's bedroom and was armed, trapping the victim in the bedroom. A second unknown male suspect proceeded to take articles from the residence. Both Taylor and the unknown suspect fled the residence.

Investigation revealed 16 year-old Cleveland Goodwin, Jr. was the unknown suspect in the Larose Court robbery and burglary.

On Thursday, June 27, Mobile Police were able to take Sanjuan Taylor and Cleveland Goodwin, Jr. into custody at a residence at the 2500 block of Pinewood Drive North. Taylor is charged with two counts Robbery First Degree, two counts Burglary First Degree and one count of Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess a Firearm. Goodwin is charged with one count Robbery First Degree and one count Burglary First Degree.
