UNDERAGE DRINKING OPERATION

On October 23, 2008 Mobile Police conducted an underage drinking operation to ensure businesses were complying with the law by not selling alcohol to minors. Twelve businesses were checked, one of the twelve businesses were not in compliance with the law. However, all other businesses were in compliance.

The businesses in compliance were:

Winn Dixie #1333, 1550 Government Street

Rite Aid #7115, 150 Ann Street

CVS # 2675, 900 Government Street

Stop & Go Convenience Store, 424 Broad Street

Circle K, 501 Broad Street

Ladas Pharmacy, 1050 Broad Street

Merri Mart #10, 559 Virginia Street

Rock Convenience Store, 1329 St. Stephens Road

Tony's Quick Stop, 1603 St. Stephens Road

Creek Breez, 1632 St. Stephens Road

Two Lion Store, 763 Summerville Street

The business not in compliance was:

Wells Quick Pic, 964 Washington Avenue an employee at the location failed to check identification prior to selling alcohol to the undercover customer. A warrant is expected to be signed today against the business employee for Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor.
