UPDATE: Fairway Drive Assault/Barricaded Subject

On Sunday, February 8, 2015, at approximately 1:50 p.m., Mobile Police responded to the 2500 block of Fairway Drive for a report of one shot. The suspect, 20 year-old Brandon Davis, shot the 35 year-old male victim in the face and both arms. The victim was transported from the scene to a local hospital.

Upon patrol arrival, Davis fired on officers before briefly taking a hostage. After releasing the hostage unharmed, Davis barricaded himself inside a residence. After multiple attempts to get Davis to surrender, members of the Mobile Police SWAT made entry into the residence. Davis was found deceased inside.

UPDATE: Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences conducted an autopsy on Davis which revealed no trauma-related injuries to cause Davis' death. A toxicology report is pending.

Mobile Police will continue the investigation.
