Child Shot on Wealthy Street

On March 5, 2014, at approximately 9:30 a.m.., Mobile Police responded to the 2600 block of Wealthy Street for a report of one shot. Upon arrival, officer found 7 year-old J'Duan Hill suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to U. S. A. Medical Center where he underwent surgery for a life-threatening injury.

Hill died as a result of his injury.

The investigation revealed the child found the gun inside the home and was handling it when it accidentally discharged, causing the fatal injury.

Detectives will continue their investigation. Charges are not expected to be filed in this case.
