UPDATE: Mobile Police Investigate Homicide, Shooting on Village Green Drive

On July 30, 2013, at approximately 2:45 a.m., Mobile Police responded to Village Green Drive for a report of one shot. Upon arrival, officers found 17 year-old Titus Williamson suffering from a gunshot wound. Williamson was transported to U. S. A. Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

At 3:00 a.m., police responded to Spring Hill Memorial Hospital for a report of a 25 year-old male suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. The victim was transported to U. S. A. Medical Center where he is in stable condition.

Mobile Homicide detectives investigated both cases as related.

On July 31, 2013, Mobile Police Homicide detectives presented the case to the Mobile County District Attorney's Office, who have determined no arrests will be made. Investigation revealed Williamson was in the process of robbing the victim at gunpoint. The victim, defending himself, produced a gun and he and Williamson exchanged gunfire during the robbery attempt.

The case will be presented to the Grand Jury for decision.
