UPDATE: Mobile Police Investigate Officer Involved Shooting

On Saturday, July 18, 2015, at approximately 10:30 p.m. while answering a call in the 600 block of Fisher Street, officers observed 21 year old Denzel Watson standing in the roadway shooting at a subject unrelated to the call officers were answering. Several rounds Watson fired struck Brabner and Hollon Inc 3053 Cotton Street but did not cause any injuries.

Corporal Michael Schaffer and Officer Caleb Tillman order Watson to drop his weapon. Watson turned towards the officers still armed with the weapon and both officers fired at Watson striking him once in the arm. Watson was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

On Monday, July 20, 2015, Watson was released from the hospital and charged with Shooting into an Unoccupied Building, Reckless Endangerment and Menacing.
