Mobile Police Make Arrest on Webb Avenue Homicide

On May 19, 2014, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Mobile Police responded to Satchel Paige Drive and Government Street for a report of one shot. Upon arrival, officers found 20 year-old Hassan Johnson suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. Johnson was transported to a local hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries.

Investigation revealed Johnson was shot in a vehicle at the 2100 block of Webb Avenue. The suspect was described as a black male with low cut hair and a light complexion wearing a dark shirt and dark colored jeans, armed with a gun.

On Wednesday, June 11, 2014, Derrick Davis was arrested in Chicago, Illinois on an unrelated harassment complaint. During his arrest, officers discovered he had an outstanding murder warrant in which Davis has waived extradition to return to Mobile, Alabama to answer to the charge.

This case is cleared by the arrest of Derrick Davis, pending his transport to Mobile.
